Ilaiyaraaja Receives A Special Honour In Australia

Ilaiyaraaja has received another international honour for his contribution to music. A special commemorative stamp has reportedly been issued in Australia to celebrate his 50 year musical journey.

The recognition is linked to the Victorian government, with Treasurer Enver Erdogan and members of the Australian Parliament involved in the honour.

Ilaiyaraaja thanked the Victorian government and Australian representatives for recognising his long career. He said the honour was deeply emotional especially after beginning his journey in a small village in Tamil Nadu.

The composer has worked on music for more than 1500 films and continues to take up much new projects.

His recent work includes Dorothy while he is also associated with the upcoming film Lenin Pandiyan. The recognition adds another milestone to his remarkable career.
